On January 19th, 1983 Janette Roberson was murdered at her place of employment, the basement pet department of Gambles store in Reed City, Michigan. It was the middle of the day. Over thirty years later, the police have been unable to solve what was an extremely brutal murder committed just blocks from the Osceola County Sheriff's office. Because this is still an open investigation, very little information is available to the public, and exactly what the police have or don't have is unknown. However, Reed City is a very small town and many of its residents have lived there all their lives. Someone may have information they have never turned over to the police. We would encourage anyone with any information regarding the murder of Janette Roberson to contact Lieutenant Lator at the Michigan State Police Post in Mt. Pleasant at 989-773-5951, or the MSP CRIME STOPPERS anonymous TIP LINE at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (773-2587).
